Blairtummock Enterprise Centre
B-listed Blairtummock House and walled garden is an unusual survivor of the type of small country house once characteristic of the Monklands. As a home of local industrialists and embellished to reflect their rising fortunes, it reached its heyday in the early 20th Century under the ownership of Colonel Andrew Lamberton. Another prominent resident was Professor James McCall, founder of the Glasgow Veterinary College.
Its rural setting was changed fundamentally by post war housing, but demolition was averted by becoming a local base for the Parks Department from 1956 until 1999. Many local residents have fond memories of the building during this time as it was used for a variety of community activities. Yet another lease of life has recently been secured through a multi-agency funded restoration as an Enterprise Centre. Doors Open visitors had an opportunity to see the exceptional standard of refurbishment for themselves on 20/21 September.
Three magnificent conference rooms will soon be available to hire, but 13 high quality serviced offices are already on the market for lease at competitive rents through marketing agents D M Hall Ltd – 0141 332 8615.
