The Project maintains daily telephone contact with vulnerable residents to monitor their well-being and alert GPs etc to potential health problems at an early stage.
Care calls are made everyday of the year, twice per day over the winter months (Goodnight Service). The project recently introduced a Good Afternoon Service for their most vulnerable clients. Referrals are made to statutory and community organisations to improve health and wellbeing where possible. Additional support is provided by personal/home safety package and Bogus Caller Alert Scheme. A new Volunteer Home Befriending service enables trained service users to visit those who are ill or housebound. The Project also acts as a community directory and information hub, promoting local events/services to clients. The Company has developed a consultancy, training and support service which assists other communities to set up a scheme modelled on the Good Morning Project ™ in their area.
This is a community-led initiative, set up and monitored by the North Glasgow Community Safety Forum and working in partnership with GCC Direct Care Services home help scheme and Social Work Services.
