Strathclyde Fire & Rescue - Fire Reach

Fire Reach Is committed to improving the life chances of every young person who attends by using the positive role model of the fire fighters, coupled with the neutral status of the Fire & Rescue Service within the community today.

The course not only teaches the young cadets key elements of fire and rescue training; the modular based programme also includes the life skills and responsibilities such as leadership and tolerance skills. Activities such as this programme are playing a huge part in the combating the vandalism and abuse that the Fire & Rescue Vehicles /Workers and Hydrants face on a regular basis from young crowds making hoax calls. The course is aiming to promote a positive image of the Fire & Rescue Service whilst highlighting the self discipline, social consciousness and awareness of the responsibilities to others that a firefighter needs to have in order to be successful and achieve job satisfaction.

The Main aim of the Fire Reach Initiative is to change attitudes and perceptions of young people by showing them life skills and responsibilities. This is achieved by providing modular based programmes, which include key elements of fire and rescue service training.
