East End Alcohol Prevention Team (SADIEs)

East Area, Healthy Glasgow

This project is part of Glasgow Council on Alcohol and is based in the Bambury Centre in Barrowfield. It is an alcohol Prevention and Education initiative, which aims to reduce alcohol related harm and risk of harm, at an individual and community wide level by providing information and advice, delivering group work and training and developing local campaigns.

The project delivers: alcohol education sessions to young people in schools and youth projects; alcohol and anger management programmes to reduce anti-social behaviour; and delivers preventative initiatives to support local parents to address alcohol issues within the family.

It works in partnership with Scotland’s Health at Work to raise awareness among local employers of alcohol issues in the workplace and delivers training on alcohol and other drugs to: youth workers; local Criminal Justice Workers; Housing Providers; and other groups of professionals and volunteers.
