Admission free

This year the 5th November will be filled with an evening of spectacular fireworks, live music, funfair rides and attractions – with Dougie Jackson from Smooth Radio being the fantastic MC for the night.

Back by popular demand, the fabulous Drifters are topping the bill with live music and entertainment.

Also performing on the night will be smooth rat pack crooner, Jim McMail, gyrating Michael Marx as Elvis and why not sing along with the Proclaimers, all ably supported by local acts ‘Whiskey River’, ‘Sanchez’ and ‘West’.

Titan the Robot, the 6ft tall walking, talking, singing and dancing android who has been mesmerising audiences across the UK will make another appearance alongside neon glowing stilt-walkers that will light up this special winter evening.

Popular funfair rides and attractions will also return with all monies going to charity and good causes.  Gymnasts from the Drumchapel Gymnastic Club and the Champion Dance and Allstars are set to amaze again with energetic displays of athleticism and poise.

With live music, fireworks, funfair rides and more, visitors are assured of a warm and lively welcome at the 2008 Drumchapel & West Winterfest.

Please wear sensible footwear!

Councillor Paul Carey said,

‘’For the third year running, the Drumchapel Winterfest will be held on 5 November 2008 in Drumchapel Park.  Some exciting bands are expected to attend, for example, the popular band, the Drifters will return for the second year running along with the amazing walking, talking robot.  There will also be a spectacular fireworks display on the night.

The event was a huge success in 2007 with over 17,000 people in attendance and the organisers are confident with the existing programme planned for this year's event.  The organisers are expecting over 20,000 people to attend.’’
