There are ten Local Community Planning Partnerships (LCPPs) in Glasgow. Glasgow Community Planning Ltd is organised into five area teams, each of which assists in the delivery of Community Planning across two local Community Planning Partnerships (LCPPs).
The East Area team supports the two local Community Planning Partnership structures of:
East Centre & Calton; and
Shettleston, Baillieston, and Greater Easterhouse
The East Area is home to 124,000 people, or more than one-in-five of the city population. It covers the north bank of the Clyde eastward from the city centre, out to the city limits past Easterhouse and Baillieston, and at its north end follows the M8 corridor through the city and up past Hogganfield Loch.
It is a large and diverse area with residents experiencing varied living conditions, from those neighbourhoods experiencing multiple deprivation and poverty, to those of relative affluence. The East Area contains a mixture of traditional established neighbourhoods sitting alongside new build developments, as well as those areas that have undergone extensive physical regeneration in recent times.
