Glasgow Community Planning (GCP) Ltd supports Community Planning across Glasgow. The East Area team is part of a complement of around 70 staff working for the company, both in a central support team and in five Area Teams located across the city. GCP Ltd supports the Glasgow Community Planning Partnership by means of a Service Level Agreement. The key functions and responsibilities of GCP Ltd include:
City Wide Level

supporting city-wide services to work together to provide better public services

managing centrally relevant programmes of activity and funding allocations

co-ordinating the implementation of the city's allocation of Fairer Scotland Fund investment and overseeing progress toward agreed objectives and outcomes

developing city-wide programmes, such as those relating to worklessness and equalities

managing the incorporated body on behalf of the Glasgow CPP including the central management of finance, monitoring, human resources, information technology and marketing activity
Area Wide Level

co-ordinating Local Community Planning Partnership activity and overseeing targeted regeneration work

managing area-based programmes of activity and funding allocations

facilitating joint working arrangements and joint planning among local community planning partners

working with local residents and representative bodies to foster more effective community engagement within the community planning process
