The Central & West area is an aggregation of the three new multi-member wards of Partick West, Hillhead & Anderston/City Centre. It includes the local communities of  Partick, Victoria Park, Hyndland, Jordanhill, Woodlands and Hillhead. It also takes in the City Centre area. The population of the entire area is over 79,000, almost 14% of the total city population. It is one of the fastest growing areas in terms of population. 
 
Together with the West local CPP, it forms the larger West Strategic Planning area. The West area is served locally by a dedicated team of staff from Glasgow Community Planning Ltd.
